Learning about myths are fun! What's even more fun is when you've dedicated a significant portion of your health journey to some of these now debunked myths I'm about to share with you. Drum roll please...

Instead of going in depth about a motivational topic I found interesting, I'm just going to link three Ted Talks I've recently listened to and identified with, share a phrase or two from each one, and then ask you to share your favorite part of each.
Be sure to pass on the video you enjoyed the most to whoever you think needs to hear it!
"I couldn't change what a system believed about me while I believed what the system believed about me. And I did! I, like everyone around me, believed that it wasn't possible for me to exist in my dream as I was. And I went about [it] trying to make myself invisible."
"Not because awards prove our worth, but because who we see thriving in the world teaches us how to see ourselves. How to think about our own value. How to dream about our futures."
I'm convinced that no matter how old you become, eating your veggies will always be a point of contention. Seriously, I'll be 29 in November and cauliflower is still a huge "hell, no!"
But just like Health Like Me explored the unknown territory of fruit, today is all about vegetables that you don't see or hear about very often! While their unique tastes might get rejected by your taste buds, we can't turn a blind eye to each of their superb health benefits. So hold on while we travel to the island of misfit veggies! Hooray! First up is Dwight's favorite, Beets -
Like most things that are good for you, beets help lower high blood pressure. This sweet vegetable also improves your stamina, helps with cognitive function like ginko biloba and even lightens your liver! That's why experts say if you want to give your body a detox boost, incorporating beets into your diet is a great place to start. But be warned this means becoming very — ahem — regular!
Beets are a radish that are not for the faint of heart. You either love them or hate them with a passion! My suggestion if you want to introduce beets into your diet but not sure you have the stomach for them — toss them in your salad! Parsnips -
If there was ever an unknown veggie, it would be this root! I hadn't even heard of these carrot loo-a-likes until I was planning out this post! But, you'll be glad I introduced parsnips on our jaunt to vegetable island. Here's why:
Collard Greens -
A staple in every Southern household, this cruciferous vegetable is more than just a prep-heavy comfort food.
Packed with fiber, collard greens are the poster child for what a cruciferous veggie actually is! Does anyone remember The Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon turned Wednesday night into Cruciferous Vegetable night and he became super gassy? It's one of my favorite episodes!
If you're looking to lower your cholesterol, boost your folate and calcium levels, aid with cancer prevention, heart and bone health, and give your hair and skin a healthier glow, go find collard greens at any grocer!
Enjoy this veggie on a family-filled Sunday. If you find you really like collard greens, be careful not to overdo it because just like their kin, spinach, kidney stones can and will be just around the corner! Kohlrabi -
Sticking to the cruciferous vegetable trend, next up we have kohlrabi!
Wondering why you've never heard of kohlrabi before? That's because this vegetable is primarily consumed in European countries and northern India. It emulates the benefits of others of its kind. As well as that, kholrabi has a high iron content enabling this veggie to aid in anemia prevention. As for it's physical nature, it looks like a beet but it has a shorter stem and fatter, white-green body. Because kholrabi isn't native to America, you are going to be hard pressed to find it in your local grocer. If you happen to come across it, let me and the other readers know where down below in the comment section! Arugula -
And voila! The 4-1-1 of the misfit vegetable world. There are so many more that need our attention. You can find out about a lot more and how they can lead to a more healthier you by simply doing research and trying new things! If there is one veggie you swear by and would love to share, be sure to drop a comment below. Or, if you'd prefer, follow me on any social media and message me there.
Until next time!

Draw what you ate, have a chart that you drew to keep count of your calories. I guarantee that when you know you have a chance to show off what you ate in something other than picture form, you'll be more likely try new things for breakfast! Have a daily Theme
